Before being called to the Bar Louise gained experience as an immigration fee earner working for a well known firm of solicitors dealing in all aspects of Immigration, Nationality and Asylum law. She has successfully combined this knowledge where it overlaps with other areas such a crime, deportation, extradition and employment. She is eager to develop this area further through undertaking judicial review and other public law work, and has a keen interest in cases involving Human Rights and Civil Liberties. In crime she has had recent experience (and success) in VHCC work, and is accustomed to undertaking complex and lengthy cases as a junior acting alone. She also has a demonstrable track record in defending and challenging the legality of ASBOs. A determined and resilient advocate who places emphasis on pro active involvement at the earliest stages of a case; and who is known for her personable and approachable attitude towards lay clients. Louise believes passionately in free and fair representation, and as such occasionally undertakes pro bono work on behalf of the Northern Circuit FRU and other charities.
